Pilgrimage to the Coptic monasteries of Egypt

The trips occasioned by preaching, by studies, or by work, taken by some brothers and sisters of our community over the last few months have been also occasions of getting to know the different ecclesial and cultural realities in both the Christian East and the Christian West.

In June br. Sabino discussed his doctoral thesis on Isaac the Syrian at the University of Louvain (Belgium); at the end of August br. Matthias participated in the meeting of the Dombes Group at Pradines monastery; in September br. Guido took part in the Third European Ecumenical assembly in Sibiu (Romania), where he was one of those responsible for the forum on spirituality; likewise in September sr. Alice, together with Orthodox, Anglican, and Protestant nuns and religious, visited various Orthodox monasteries in Moldavia (Romani); br. Marcello spent all of October in St Petersburg, staying at the St Alexander Nevskij lavra, to continue there his study of Russian; in mid-October br. Sabino traveled to Lebanon, to participate in a conference organized by the Maronite University of Lovaizé (Lebanon) and also delivered a talk at the theological faculty in Balamand; at the end of October br. Guido together with br. Imerio led a group of monks and nuns from various African Benedictine and Trappist communities on a pilgrimage to the Coptic monasteries of Egypt; from the end of September br. Fabio is in Paris to take a two-year theological course at the Institut Catholique and staying at the Benedictine abbey of La Source; from there he joined sr. Sylvie in Versailles for the dedication of the new chapel of the Deaconesses of Reuilly.
