Message from Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury

Rowan Williams, Arcivescovo di Canterbury
Rowan Williams
15th International Ecumenical Conference
I wish you every joy and fulfilment in your prayers and discussione. May this meeting be an experience of God's glorious self-giving for all and a renewal

Reverend Father Prior and all in the Monastery of Bose
together with all your guests participating in the Fifteenth International
Ecumenical Conferente on Orthodox Spirituality

I am very happy to send my warmest greetings and blessings for your conferente at Bose on the Transfiguration of Our Lord.

The gospel narrative depicts the Transfiguration as the revelation of Christ's glory not only as the one who fulfils all law and prophecy but also as the one whose 'exodus' in the paschal events leads all people to liberty and to a share in the divine nature. This mystery was especially dear to my great predecessor Archbishop Michael Ramsey, whose teaching has so deeply marked our Anglican Church.

I wish you every joy and fulfilment in your prayers and discussione. May this meeting be an experience of God's glorious self-giving for all and a renewal of the longing to share that glory with all the world.

Arcihbishop of Canterbury
