THE AGES OF THE SPIRITUAL LIFE

Dear participants,
We address with joy to the participants in the 21st Intemational Ecumenicnl Conference on Orthodox Spirituality, held between 4-7 September 2013, at the monastery led by Father Enzo Bianchi.
The theme of the congress, The Age of Spiritual Life, is a major concern for the pastoral-missionary activity of the Church today, with a deep spiritual meaning, in a society increasingly fragmented and secularized. Therefore, human beings need spiritual healing and existential communion in order to understand the ultimate meaning of life, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13).
In this context, we must rediscover the importance of spiritual life, of social cooperation, and especially the common confession of the Gospel of Christ's love for His Church and for all people. We congratulate the organizers of this congress and all the participants in its works and wish them fruitful results.
